Guts, Microbiome, and…Bunnies?

  • Sgt. Pepperoni's 4533 Campus Drive Irvine, CA, 92612 United States (map)

It takes guts to study animals in the middle of Alaska. And it takes bacteria to stick around there long term! The cold harsh wilderness doesn't grow a lot of food for herbivores. Most of it is dry, not nutrient dense, and possibly toxic. But animals, like shoe hares, eat them just fine thanks to microbes in their digestive tract! Join us with Dr. Bahareh Sorouri as she talks about cute bunnies and how their gut microbes let them thrive!
