Play any video games? Whether on our TVs or phones, “play” is not as simple as it used to be. Do you use a controller? Or are you keyboard and mouse gang? What sorts of characters do you select or create? These seem like superficial decisions, but they can dramatically shape your gameplay experience. And design can be optimized to enforce certain choices or actions that have nothing to do with games. Sometimes that excludes certain people or creates inequitable outcomes for all players. Come and learn about the nuances behind how design plays to, or counters, pervading social structures!
